Installing Glass Paintings

Glass paintings and sun catchers can be installed in one of two ways:

  1. Glass paintings can be leaned against a sunny window to catch and refract the light into playful rainbows. We recommend displaying these transparent glass paintings on a window that receives direct sunlight to achieve maximum effect.
  1. Glass paintings can also be displayed as floating "posters" by being placed onto windows using clear glass mounts (provided). Each painting comes with several clear glass mounts and an installation pamphlet.

How to mount your painting:

  • Wipe your window down to make sure there is no dust and to ensure a smooth installation process.
  • Attach the clear glass mounts to the back of the painting. This ensures that the painted side does not get damaged.
  • Hold up the glass painting with the sticky side facing towards the window. Firmly press against the glass for several seconds.
  • Your painting is officially attached to the window! Check that the bond between the glass painting and the window is strong after a couple of hours.

    Displaying Glass Lamps

How to install your painted glass lamp:

    1. Most of our hand-painted glass lamps come with a table lamp base.
    2. After receiving the package, carefully unwrap the protective wrap around the glass shade, lamp base, and light bulb.
    3. Set the lamp base on the table you intend to display it on. Make sure that it is close to an outlet if the base has a power chord.
    4. Line up the opening of the glass lamp shade with the light bulb socket on the lamp base.
    5. Carefully screw in the provided light bulb into the light socket. For your personal safety, make sure that the lamp base has not been plugged into any electrical outlet during this step.
    6. Turn on the lamp and admire the rainbow refractions your new light produces.

My stained glass art isn’t perfect, why is that?

Each stained glass artwork is made by hand in our studio. Due to the nature of working with glass and glass paint, some parts or sections of the final piece can have bubbles, brush strokes, or a small scratch. These “imperfections” are usually only noticeable upon very close inspection and should be thought of as lovely reminder that a glass artisan crafted it by hand. If there are major imperfections as a result of shipping, please reach out to art@stvalent.com so that we can help you resolve any issues.
